Meet the Team
Diana Tran
Founder & Speech and Language Pathologist
I have over 10 years of experience working with children of all ages, first as a therapy assistant and now as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). After working across a variety of settings, I created grow onwords to offer families the kind of care I truly believe in—thoughtful, supportive, and centred on the whole child.
I believe that connection comes first. Children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and genuinely connected to the people around them. Language grows from shared joy, trust, and meaningful interactions, not pressure or expectations. My work always starts with building that connection, and from there, communication can grow.
As an SLP, I believe parents are a child’s most important language partners. My role is to guide, explain, and support you, while making therapy fun, engaging, and a positive experience for both your child and your family.
You’ll always know what I’m working on with your child, why it matters for their development, and how we’re supporting it, so you can feel confident continuing to build your child’s speech, language, and literacy skills beyond our sessions.
My sessions are child-led, play-based, and evidence-based. I am also on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) in British Columbia and continue to learn about and implement neurodiversity-affirming practices in my work.
Curious what “child-led,” “play-based,” “evidence-based,” or “neurodiversity-affirming” really mean? I’m always happy to talk about it! Ask me during your visit.

-
At Grow On Words, our team is made up of dedicated speech-language pathologists and support professionals who share a common goal: providing thoughtful, evidence-based care in a warm, child-centred environment.
We value collaboration, clinical integrity, and creating a space where both children and clinicians can do their best work.
-
At Grow On Words, our work is guided by a few core values that shape how we show up—for children, families, and each other.
Play Comes First
We believe meaningful learning happens through play. Our therapy is child-led, developmentally respectful, and grounded in curiosity rather than compliance.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Care
We practice from a neurodiversity-affirming lens, honouring each child’s way of being, communicating, and engaging with the world. Difference is not something to be fixed—it’s something to be understood and supported.
Relationships Matter
Strong, trusting relationships are central to our work. We value collaboration with families and see caregivers as essential partners in the therapeutic process.
Thoughtful, Grounded Practice
We value clinicians who are reflective, curious, and intentional in their work. We prioritize thoughtful decision-making, ongoing learning, and care that is evidence-informed.
Care for the People Doing the Work
Grow On Words is a small, values-driven practice. We believe that care, presence, and sustainability matter—for children and for clinicians. We aim to create a work environment where people feel supported, respected, and able to do their best work.
-
At Grow On Words, we support:
